This then triggered the Cast Members screen to pop up an upsell rate (you can also request an upsell rate - sometimes this works). American Automobile Association (AAA) and Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) members qualify for “room only” discounts almost year-round, though there are a limited number of rooms available for each date.

· During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

· During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

· During Peak Season and Summer Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.

· The only time AAA/CAA discounts don’t usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas) at the Value and Moderate resorts.

Sometimes the Swan and Dolphin Resorts offer discounts of up to 50% to AAA members. Be sure to ask if you are booking either of these resorts.

Military discounts - Room rates are determined by military grade and apply to both active and retired military personnel and Department of Defense civilians. Pay grade verification is required at check-in. Valid military ID or current LES is accepted as verification.

Airline Employee Discount - Sometimes airline employees can get discounts of up to 50% off rack rates at the Disney Resorts. You must show appropriate ID at check-in.

How to Get a Discount Pin Code to a Disney Resort

Occasionally, some people will receive a postcard or newsletter containing a pin code for a discount to select Walt Disney World Resort rooms or packages. This pin code is nontransferable, so it can only be used by the person to whom it was sent. Although I do not know the exact way you can get a pin code sent to you, here are some suggestions that may work:

1. Register online at the official Walt Disney World website at www.disneyworld.com. At the top of the screen, click on "Register".

2. Sign up for every Disney-related newsletter available. At the official Walt Disney World website at www.disneyworld.com, in the upper right-hand corner, click on "Sign Up". 3. Order a Walt Disney World vacation planning DVD and be sure to enter your email address.

Since I have done this, I have received both postcard and email pin codes. Recently, I was able to use a pin code from an email to save money on a Disney resort AND I got the free Dining Plan at a time it was not being offered to the general public. Give it a try.

Disney Water Parks Discounts: Often Disney will run a special where you can purchase a second water park one day pass for 1/2 price with the purchase of the first one-day water park pass. If this is something you are interested in, be sure to ask when purchasing your tickets.
